What's been going on in our family lately...
Yesterday Briggs and I went to get a few things for his upcoming birthday party. In the car he talked my little ear off. He told me about the big kids on the bus who said bad words and when he heard the bad words he tried to cover his ears but they said it to fast; it made me sad that he heard those words but I told him how proud I was of him for trying. I also told him that there will be a lot of things he'll hear in school that aren't right and he'll need to continue to make those good choices. He is such a good boy. He also told me that his teacher had him read a book to his whole class yesteday and that he was the only one in his class to get a sticker for listening and he was really proud of that. When I told Cory that he laughed and said that that was probably how I was in school....the teachers pet. Someone has to be right?!?!?! I also love how he tells me about his "pack pack" instead of "backpack."
Tonight Briggs went and delivered birthday invites to a few neighbor boys and he went over to the neighbor across the street. His mom said he wasn't home but was at another neighbors house and asked him if he wanted to go give it to him there. His response was so grown up, "no thanks, I have other deliveries to make." That cracked me up when she told me that!
Ethan started Pre-school this week at a Montessori school and he loves it! He goes every day and is gone pretty much the same time Briggs is for kindergarden. He loves it so much that he doesn't want to leave and wants to stay "all day" and "eat lunch with the other kids." I told him that he has to wait until he is in 1st grade to do that. He doesn't seem satisfied with that but we will see how the rest of this week goes.
The other day the boys were playing football downstairs and Briggs asked Ethan which touchdown he wanted in the room and Ethan said, "the whole house is my touchdown" to which Briggs responded emphatically, "no, it's not!!" Ethan than said with a little self-admission, "yeah, maybe just a little bit of it." They crack me up!
Some other cute things about Ethan is when he thinks your laughing at him he gets mad and when he yells stop it comes out "shhtooop!! with his cute little lisp. Love that boy!
(We're still finding little men or animals in the boy's blinds. This is Ethan's work. It always cracks me up! Please note the shed in background that Cory built...he did a great job!)
Brooklyn is hilarious and goofy as ever. She was besides herself when Ethan was gone this Monday. She drove me crazy! She has been better since.

Some of the funny things she does is she always asks us: Wheres Ethan at? Wheres Briggs at? Wheres Daddy at? And she'll do that first thing in the morning, before bed, and while driving in the car.
Today I told her she was such a big girl and her response to me was, "no...I'm little." She surprised that she made the connection between being big and little; it was really cute!
Brooklyn loves to color and she has a signature up down squiggles and circles that is so characteristic of her! One day we put her down for a nap at my in-laws and she found the dry erase markers and made her mark all over a stool and the wallpaper. Thanks to the Magic Eraser I was able to remove it all. She usually doesn't draw on the walls but I'd say she had a moment.
She throws a HUGE fit now when I pick out her outfit or if I put pants on her because she LOVES skirts; I guess it's time to get a lot of thick tights she can wear under a few of her favorite skirts. She also has been throwing huge fits when I do her hair; which is probably because I haven't been as consistent doing it.
(Here she is trying to decide what shirt and belt to wear; it sometimes takes a while...she must be like her mother!!)
She will sometimes put herself in timeout. She likes to sing/say, "walking through the door" over and over when she is being silly. I have no idea where she got that one from.
Well, I am 22 weeks today with our 4th. We had our ultra sound a few weeks ago but didn't find out what we're having. So Cory and I need to agree on 2 names now; which might be a challenge for us (if you have any great ideas send them our way)! This pregnancy so far has felt so long. Perhaps it was because I have no energy and I was so sick for the first 3 months. I am hoping with the holiday season coming that it will keep me distracted and motivated as this is my FAVORITE time of year!

We are excited to welcome our little one at the end of January!!
Tonight at the dinner table the kids were asking questions about our spirit and "what happens if a baby dies in my stomach?" which led to other questions after I told them that a baby once died in my stomach. They wanted to know "how the doctors took the baby out?" and how they "came out of my stomach" and they weren't satisfied with the simplified answers I was giving. I gave them a little more info that I felt was appropriate and then Ethan said, "when we see the baby come out then we'll know how the baby got in ;-)" and I assured him that he won't be seeing where the baby comes out but he could see the baby after it was born. Oh...the minds of children...they crack me up!
Cory discovered his love for the mini backhoe this past week as he rented one for a few hours to make a bike path with jumps for the boys in a neighboring lot close to our home. It is almost all rock and hard to dig (which they tried a few days before). It isn't complete yet but the boys had fun helping him. He came in after taking the back-hoe back and told me that's what he wants for his birthday ;-)....haha...funny. Maybe someday when we get that ranch I've always dreamed of!!
