In a nut shell...
Heart shaped egg McMuffin sandwiches, the gym, excited kids for their valentines parties, hugs and kisses, sugar cookies, frosting and sprinkles, lots of pictures, cookies to Briggs class; big surprise for him, candy boxes, chocolates, micro-small note from Cory, mailboxes, flags up, excited kids, surprise under pillows, baths, Ethan and Brooklyn throwing a wet ball from the bath to the hall, water everywhere, sparkling cider in nice glasses, shrimp scampi with linguini, kids bouncing off the walls, piano practice, tired mom, popcorn and sparkling cider kid-less, hot tub, good conversation, sweet note under my pillow from Briggs, tears, bed.

So, I guess you could say it was a good day...
Ethan and Brooklyn and I made these cute little boxes for their teachers, friends, Grandparents (
the day before). They turned out so cute. I adapted them to be smaller from
this adorable idea I saw. I took some photos with the kids and their boxes. Briggs was at school when we did this and I didn't think to get a photo of him when he came home but he also made one and their teachers loved them!
I got these cute little wish tickets a while back and I thought I'd start leaving fun little love notes for my family on them.
When we were in Montana a few weeks ago I bought these mailboxes at Target for a $1 each. We decorated them. They are now going to be our official mailboxes to leave love-notes to each other. I think we'll leave them out all year around. The kids love surprising each other and sneaking a note in the box without anyone seeing.
This is the micro-note I got in my box yesterday from Cory. It is not your eyes playing tricks on you. It really is that small. When I asked Cory if he had a magnifying glass he laughed. He thought he was so clever when he explained that I had indeed told him, a few days earlier, that all I really wanted was a "small" note from him. So, I guess next time I'll need to be a little more specific as to what I'd like.
If you're wondering what "Go Team USA" is referring to; it is the boys soccer team name that they chose this year. Funny boys!

Boy she is growing up and getting so big. What a beautiful little girl she is!
So is this one!! He is getting so mature and he is definitely the comic relief of our family! He makes me laugh all the time!
From the boys mailbox they had a clue that led them to their pillows. Underneath they found a journal. I saw this idea the other day and loved it immediately! I knew that I wanted to do this with the boys.
So, I wrote a note on the first page and then I put it under their pillow...
then...
They write a note back. It can be something that happened during there day, a question, something they want to tell us (this is in no way replaces us talking ;-), their dreams, goals, a drawing, or anything else they want it to be. Just a fun way to help the boys in their writing and to encourage and lift them to be the best boys that they can be. We tell them good things all of the time but sometimes it is nice to have it written down for them to go back to and read.
I'm really excited about this!
Then they put it under our pillows.
Last night I got Briggs' note and it was so sweet and special I cried!
He said that it was the best valentines day ever!
Today I got Ethan's and there were pictures in there.
Melt.my.heart!
This is going to be a fun adventure.
Briggs brought home a fun heart that he made at school; it's up on our wipe board in the kitchen now! It goes perfect with our February theme! Oh, and he's pretty darn cute too!
And just because he's so stinkin' cute!
