Just wanted to share some highlights from my day!

A fun family visit

My sisters and brother in law were able to come out and spend a week with us this last week. We had a really good talking, playing cards, laughing, eating LOTS of junk food and just enjoyed being together; Cory said we were really going to get close as we were all crammed into a two bedroom apartment; and I would say that we did.

We just took it easy and hung out. Sunday night we went to a nice park in downtown Gahanna and walked along the creekside. Another day we took the boys to the zoo, which Gabe and the boys really enjoyed :). We had a cookout at the park one night and did lots of swimming. Cory and Gabe went golfing a few times and Briggs and Ethan loved when Uncle Gabe would lift them up in the air and upside down and they could walk on the ceiling. Aunt Candace made cookies with Briggs-Happy Birthday Candace, and Aunt Crystal got a kick out of dressing Ethan in his jammies. One night she accidently put both of his legs in one side of his jammies and she was laughing so hard. She asked him to go walk and grab something, he thought about it, then got really embarrassed and sat down. It was so cute.

After they left I asked Briggs if he had a good time with everyone. He said yes. I asked him what he enjoyed most and he said, "Uncle Gabe" to which I asked him why. He said, "Because I just love him." What a sweet little boy! Thanks for taking the time to come and visit us! We love you!

August Update . . .

Here are a few fun photos of the kids! They are growing up so quickly. The other day Cory was in charge of dinner and he asked the boys what they wanted and Briggs said, "pizza and tacos," and when he asked Ethan he replied with, "bread . . . donuts!" What can I say, we love pizza and donuts!! Pretty funny little boys!

They love little Brooklyn and Ethan is always so quick to start singing "I am a Child of God" to her when she starts to cry. Ethan is really coming unto his own and he loves to wear Briggs' football helmet around the house or any hat he can find. The other day I had his hair all done for church and I came out into the living room to see him wearing Briggs' hat; he wore it all the way to church.

The boys love playing "run" which consists of them running from room to room, back and forth. Briggs has a little East Indian friend and they love to play store with his cash register. His friend brought a book up to "purchase" and asked how much it was and briggs responded quite confidently, "6, 8, 20 pounds." Cory and I laughed so hard. What a cutie!

They are so fun loving and we are finally feeling a bit more adjusted; unfortunately I think most of the adjusting had to start with me but I am getting there. Brooklyn is such a little angel baby and we are so happy to have her in our family! Enjoy the pictures!

Like I say . . . we like donuts . . . This is how I found Briggs when I came into the kitchen this morning!



The boys are always dragging stools or cars to stand on so they can look into the crib; I found them in there the other day entertaining Brooklyn . . .

Just a few photos I took today. I know that her grandma's are especially interested to see how she has changed over the past two weeks; so these are for you!

I'll be the first to admit that I am a real novice at taking photographs so today I decided to see if I could get a few shots of the boys to frame for our house; I didn't get too many good ones, but here are a few that I liked. Any suggestions on improving my photoshopping skills and/or photography, I would love your insight. I like the look of the black and white and just played around with the saturation and highlights.

Jammies and morning bed-head

This morning the boys were being so cute with Brooklyn. Briggs kept saying, "She is just so cute; I love my baby sister." Here are a few photos in their morning jammies. Oh, so cuddly!!

Brooklyn

Here is a photo I took of Brooklyn; she looks so much like Briggs did as a baby (just the girl form) so we are excited to see what her "look" will be as she grows a little more.


This photo I took from my hospital bed the first day when Grandma Hansen came up with the boys to see Brooklyn. This photo is typical of how the boys love to be around here and kiss and hug and hold her. She is lucky to have two brothers who love her so much.


First sponge bath at home . . . She definitely doesn't like her diaper changed and being naked.






This sweet baby girl just sleeps and sleeps; perhaps she will take after her mother as a child. But I have a feeling the sleepiness will pass; but I can't complain!! We sure love this little girl!

Brooklyn and Grandma Hansen

Here are some new photos of baby Brooklyn with the family. She is such a sweet little girl and has already been sleeping 4-6 hours at night which has been nice for me to get a decent stretch of sleep (lets hope it lasts right?!?!?!) Briggs and Ethan are absolutely smitten by her and love to hold her and kiss her. I feel like I have my own paparazzi when ever she is awake as they are climbing all over me to get a closer look. The boys have sure enjoyed spending the week with Grandma Hansen. She has been a life saver to me in so many ways; playing with the boys, cooking meals, running my washer and dryer all day long, going grocery shopping, and giving me the some much needed rest. I am so appreciative of her.







Tonight we went to the Easton Mall here and the boys played in the fountains and then we sat and listened to a jazz band playing. It was a nice night.


Say Cheese!!! Ethan loves to say "Cheese" over and over while we are taking his photo; it is hilarious. The boys enjoyed a nice swim with Grandma and Daddy after their hour-long bike ride.
